Traffic Manager | Account Representative

Traffic Manager
Status: Full Time
Salary: DOE

Job Description: Manage all functions of the shipping and receiving traffic functions. Specifically tracking the incoming shipment of goods from manufacturers and the planning of shipment of goods to major customers.
  • Tracking of all incoming shipments
  • Preparation and distribution of all Purchase Orders
  • Recognizing into Platinum Receipt of Goods
  • Communications with vendors as required
  • Matching incoming shipments with customer orders
  • Participate in purchasing meetings
  • Manage TSUSA categories
  • Manage payments to Brokers and Shipping Companies
  • Manage relationships with Shipping Companies
  • Research and recommend Changes to Shipping Companies
Activities and Duties:
    Tracking of Incoming Shipments
  • Maintain database of outstanding shipments
  • Predict arrivals of shipments
    Purchasing
  • Prepare Purchase Order documents
  • Distribute Purchase Order documents
  • File and retrieve Purchase Order documents
    Receiving
  • Receive incoming shipments into the accounting program
  • Recommend payment dates for suppliers
    Communications with Vendors
  • Develop and maintain a relationship with vendors to facilitate accurate and timely shipments of goods
    Matching incoming shipments with customer orders
  • For large accounts, develop and maintain methods to certify that sufficient goods are on order and arrive in time to satisfy customer orders
    Purchasing Meetings
  • Present the status of goods on order
  • With the Warehouse manager, be prepared to discuss current and future shortages of goods
    Manage TSUSA Codes
  • Understand and monitor correct application of TSUSA codes by Broker
  • Make recommendations to change TSUSA codes for existing products
    Manage Disbursements to Freight Companies and Brokers
  • Track current freight costs for overseas shipments
  • Validate billings from freight companies to verify that billing is accurate
  • Validate billings from Brokers including: Correct freight charges, correct TSUSA codes, additional accuracy tests as appropriate
    Manage relationships with Shipping Companies and Brokers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with shipping companies and brokers
  • Understand and track changes in freight costs and opportunities
  • Research market to determine if we are getting the best rates and service from shipping companies
Basis for Perfomance Appraisal
On a 30-day, 90-day and annual basis, a full performance appraisal will be held. At this session, performance will be measured against this job description and will be important in the appraisal. The following items will be appraised:
  • Effectiveness and accuracy of predicted receipt of goods
  • Effectiveness of Just in Time Inventory and inventory levels
  • Ability to establish personal relationships with customers and vendors
  • Knowledge of Arkon products and procedures
  • Knowledge and effective use of accounting software
Qualifications:
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to accurately manage information
  • Must be intermediate Excel user including Auto Filtering
  • Experience in modular accounting programs

Account Representative
Status: Full Time
Salary: DOE

Job Description: The Account Representative is responsible for the ongoing development, assistance, and support for all domestic and international sales and marketing.  In this role, he/she shall work closely with the V.P. Marketing to create and respond to strategic sales initiatives designed to strengthen the recognition and reach of Arkon products worldwide.  Qualified candidates should have at least 2 or more years experience in sales or marketing and possess excellent organization, telephone, and customer service skills.  Ideal candidate will have sales or customer support experience in the PDA, Cell phone, Satellite Radio, GPS navigation, or other related consumer electronics field.  Bilingual in French or German also a plus but not required.
